The Wild Duck Cluster contains an estimated 2900 stars, one of the richest and most compact open clusters. 6th magnitude, 5600 ly away, in the constellation Skutum, close to the center of the Milky Way.

M13  NGC 6205                                Kodak 400
This globular cluster found in Hercules is only a faint 5.8 magnitude, and contains possibly several 100,000 stars at 25,100 light years.
An extremely bright rising moon is responsible for the bluish-green color, sharp detail was digitally enhanced.

Located in the Summer Triangle, just above Altair, estimated 284 light years distant, with a magnitude of 2.72.

Caldwell 76  NGC 6231                   Kodak 1000

Open cluster in Scorpious, estimated 5900 light years distant, with a magnitude of 2.6. Low on the horizon [-41° 48'], the bright stars in this cluster appear to sparkle with colors.

Lightning Loop                                    Kodak 800

A thunderstorm on August 4th presented quite a show of electrostatic discharge, including this one which appears to make a loop, arc down, then up again. Perhaps it is just a spiral viewed on edge.
